在重搖滾史上若稱第二，可能沒有其它專輯敢稱第一。
專輯中的精華所在，應是有「搖滾樂國歌」之稱的Stairway To Heaven一曲，
這首歌同時也是國外廣播電台播放次數最多的歌曲。
整首歌分成七個段落進行。
從柔緩的木吉他、悠揚的橫笛、到激情的電吉他，
Jimmy Page精彩的吉他演奏、Robert Plant頂尖的歌喉，
加上不落俗套的編曲風格，造就了這首搖滾史上最有名的搖滾史詩。
1980年9月25日鼓手John Bonham因酒精中毒而不幸去逝，
同年12月，Led Zeppelin宣佈因鼓手去逝而正式解散，留給樂迷無限的追思。

但不管如何，Led Zeppelin的音樂對後期重金屬樂團的影響力十足深遠，
