第四十八屆葛萊美獎各項得獎名單揭曉

 

 

第四十八屆葛萊美獎頒獎典禮於2 / 9舉行，

歌唱事業再創新高峰的流行天后瑪麗亞凱莉總共獲得八項入圍，但最後只拿下三獎。

顯然葛萊美評審只認識U2這組老字號樂團！

U2一口氣抱走年度最佳歌曲、年度最佳專輯等五項大獎，成為本屆葛萊美的大贏家。

嘻哈才子Kanye West則不負眾望，奪下三項大獎。

第四十八屆葛萊美主要獎項得獎名單如下：

年度最佳專輯：U2合唱團的「How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb」。

年度最佳唱片：年輕歲月合唱團的「Boulevard Of Broken Dreams」。

年度最佳歌曲：U2合唱團的「Sometimes You Can`t Make It On Your Own」。

年度最佳新人：John Legend。

最佳流行演唱專輯：凱莉克拉森的「Breakaway」。

最佳流行演唱男歌手：史提夫汪達。

最佳流行演唱女歌手：凱莉克拉森。

關於這個團，光聽團名就很有意思，台灣樂迷翻譯成「午夜石油合唱團」，

事實上，在英文裡Midnight Oil有「開夜車」的說法，

有句成語「焚膏繼晷」不就叫「Burn the midnight oil」？

 

還記得以前當學生常常開夜車夜讀，一面苦中作樂的聽著Midnight Oil 的專輯，

那個挑燈夜戰聽著AB版卡帶，外加AM, FM電台的全盛的時期，從未在年少的記憶中消失。

Midnight Oil一直以來都是眾搖滾樂評口中的社會政治歌曲詮釋與實踐的最佳代表團體，

主唱Peter Garrett不僅能創作詞曲，擁有法律系高學位的他更是一位堅實公義的基督徒，

從他的音樂創作理念中，融合了政治批判、社會關懷、種族文化、環保生態…等多元議題。

1987年轟然推出的專輯「Diesel and Dust」，在美國排行榜上獲得了廣大的迴響，

曾經盤踞全英Top 6，全美Top 17的「Beds Are Burning」展現獨樹一幟的搖滾風貌。

在美國Billboard排行榜上，你太概很少看到Elaine Paige 這個陌生的名字，
因為她是一位來自英國的舞台劇首席紅星，流行音樂市場並不是她的世界。
 
不過，Elaine Paige的歌藝卻讓人無法忽視。
她擁有清脆嘹亮的好歌喉，搭配她特殊質感的詮釋方式，
讓這些非主流市場的歌聲打動了無數樂迷的心。
夏天本人也是那深受感動的其中之一。
 
Elaine Paige1951年出生於倫敦，70年代開始，便投入英國舞台劇的演出。
她是唱紅「Don’t Cry For Me Argentina」和「Memory」的第一人。
 
從1981年之後，Elaine Paige先後推出來不少個人專輯，
曲目遍及音樂劇、影視名曲以及流行音樂史上的經典。
Elaine Paige呈現出來的版本除了有她自己獨特的風味，
她的專輯也一直擁有廣大的支持者和相當不錯的口碑。
 
1985年Elaine Paige的「Love Hurts」個人專輯中，
與來自蘇格蘭的女歌手Barbara Dickson一起演唱了這首「I Know Him So Well」，
並收錄在ABBA兩位男團員Ulvaeus、Benny Andersson和作詞家Tim Rice合作的音樂劇「Chess」中。
 
雅致動人帶點淡淡哀愁的曲風，加上兩人默契十足的合唱功力，讓此曲更臻完美。
雖然只在英國榜上看到它的蹤跡，但相信你和我一樣，也會為它深深著迷。
